Beauty on Earth
As I walked home from school the other day, exhausted from a grueling soccer practice, I had to stop and just look around me. It was about 6pm on a nice, cool, day in Ukarumpa. I could hear children’s laughter as they ran in the tall grass and the sound of the national guys’ shouts as they were playing rugby in the nearby field . The sun was setting off to my side hidden behind the nearest mountain. I looked past the trees and saw the ranges of mountains, all blue and majestic looking. I had to smile at God’s beautiful creation that he has given us to enjoy. Living in Papua New Guinea, in my opinion, is the best thing anyone could experience.  Sometimes it is hard not living in “civilization”, but the beauty surrounding me and all of my great friends makes up for it. I absolutely love living in PNG, spending my time climbing trees, riding motorbikes, playing in the rain and mud, and being around the people of Papua New Guinea. Since I came almost 2 years ago, I have come to love this place better than any place I have been before. I only wish that all my friends and family back in America and other places could be here to enjoy the beauty here in my new home, Papua New Guinea. Of all the things I miss from America(which isn’t much), family and friends are probably at the top of my list, right up there next to McDonalds and malls. But while I’m here without them, I might as well enjoy the scenery.  I just can’t wait to get to Heaven, when the beauty and happiness there doesn’t match up to anything here on earth. Even the beauty in Papua New Guinea.
